write out for project 2

Hi my name is jordan and for my presentation i will be talking about the video i worked with last time done by bike radar on how to teach a child to ride a bike. I wanted to continue with this topic because I find it interesting and this time I looked at the evidence that this video provided. In the video they use a couple different types of evidence which are factual demonstrations and an expert testimony.

I believe the first form of evidence presented is an expert testimony. Instead of our speaker quoting someone who they believe to be an expert i think bikeradar let the expert herself create the video. The lady doing the videos name is Isla Rowntree and she is a former bike racer and is now the founder of a kids bike brand called islabikes. This proves that Isla really knows what she is talking about and is almost an expert on the subject. I feel like what she says is a good form of testimony because according to the reading “using and citing evidence” and expert testimony is given by someone who is in the related field of the controversy. So i believe the whole video is a form of an expert testimony.

The next form is what I believe to be the biggest and most prominent piece of evidence was the use of factual demonstrations. In the reading by Joseph Zompetti on evidence he says that “Factual demonstrations are forms of evidences that can actually demonstrate the claim.” During the whole video while the lady is talking about what you should do with your child she is actually demonstrating with a child or having the child do it on his own. This was also really helpful because it was easy to follow what she was saying because they were demonstrating at the same time. It was also very powerful because she was basically showing how what she is saying is true and it does work.

Overall this video has very good use of evidence and helps me and the viewers who are most likely parents to take islas expert advice when teaching kids to learn to ride bikes.
